Well, it's a new year!  We have been traveling for six months now, and what an incredible trip it has been.  We stayed at Santispac for most of January before heading south down the rest of Baja for the first time.  We left just before the end of the month in order to meet up with Cindy's parents in Cabo San Lucas on the 3rd of February.

It was great to be travelling again, and to experience new places and scenery.

This is the official launch of the "Sail" boat on January 1st.  We have had our Minto in the water many times with both the motor and the oars...but here we are putting it in the water to sail for the first time.

This is the other flag we made for our neighbors and friends for Christmas.  Can anyone guess what that is on it? Hint:  It is basically a warning to let everyone on the beach know that they may want to be 'up wind' for the next few hours.  What do you think?

And to think it is January!!  What a gorgeous day :)

We got a chuckle out of this one!  It looks like Barry is sitting in a bath tub :)  It gives you an idea of just how small our boat is.  Look at the gorgeous woodwork...

Ok...this is kind of cool.  Down the beach from where we are staying there is a lagoon.  In the lagoon, the water is not as clear as the ocean and the lagoon is surrounded by Mangrove bushes.  We were tooling around in our boat, when we saw this opening with steam coming out of it.  See that white area in the Mangroves?  Well, we realized it was a hot spring.  It really was intriguing and we decided to take a closer look...

This picture shows both the opening, the roots of the Mangroves and the steam from the hot spring much  better than the last picture...

As you can see we had our boat right in there, it was so cool, we really enjoyed our time exploring there.

Our friends and neighbors, Deb & Jim, had to go back to the States, we were in the habit of having "Happy/View Hour" with them, here we are toasting them, and wishing they were here...We miss you guys!!

We have now defined our space with rocks, and painted those rocks white.  Our friend Jack was good enough to bring us the rocks and offered to put his catamaran beside our little palapa.  Our neighbors Jim & Deb had permission for this space to be 35'x35', so that is what we cordoned off.  It is just great, we had been frustrated, on occasion, by people parking their RV's very close to the palapa, since we did the above we have not had any more concerns...

Just south of Playa Santispac

We have now left Santispac and have started our travels down the Baja Peninsula.

We have decided to stay for a night in El Burro campground.  Which is kind of funny, since it is only about 5 km south of Playa Santispac and is on the same bay :)  We thought it would be neat to have a bit of a different view for a night before we really begin our travels.

Aaahhhh!!!  This is the life.  We have not bought a lot of things in Mexico, but we did splurge for a double hammock and called it a Christmas gift to each other.  The palapa at El Burro is much sturdier than the cute little one we have at Santispac, so now we are able to use the hammock here...

Ok...here we go...this is a bottle of Gusano Rojo, limes, salt and a shot glass with a worm in it.  The worm came from the bottle of Gusano Rojo.  Gusano Rojo is like Tequila, only in our opinion tastier, with more body AND it has this worm.   The custom is... the person who takes the last shot from the bottle is also supposed to swallow the worm with their shot.  Barry had the pleasure, and the nerve, to do it when we finished our first bottle, a few months ago. Gusano

Well you guessed it.  Guess who's turn it was this time?  Do you think she actually did it?  See action shots below :)

All right Cindy!!  And it looks like she actually had fun doing it :)

Berthas' Restaurant at Playa El Burro

While staying at El Burro we went to eat at Bertha's Restaurant.  Barry had ordered a Pacifico and it was just huge,  almost one liter...and the bowl of soup was our appetizer.  You will notice that there is no picture of our actual meal, which were burritos for Cindy and stuffed chili peppers for Barry, we must have been very hungry :)

Playa El Burro

Did we mention Cindy's burritos were stuffed with pork?  Sorry not funny...just outside of the restaurant was this cute pig having a bite to eat himself...only in Baja :)
